Yes, of course this was innevitable, wasn't it? David Kirschner just announced plans on remaking the 88' doll slasher flick Child's Play. You know, the film who's writer completlely dropped the ball with Seed of Chucky. He just seemed to have too much control of the series and seriously didn't know what the hell he was doing, or in fact, thinking. I geuss I can't blame him. The Chucky Franchise are literaly all of the films he has in his belt. With the addition of writing for the Tales of the Crypt Show once....ONCE!!! But when asked about the remake possibility, he doesn't even pay attention to the only films he's ever made. "...it's almost 30 years later for me as a filmmaker from where I started to now, and the idea of taking some skill that maybe I didn't possess then and putting it towards the next film, I think could be exciting." Wait..almost 30 years. Seriously, it's only been about 19 years. In retrospective to how long an actual year is, that's not even close. Just see where I'm coming from. If any of you who happened to see the disaster flop that was Seed of Chucky, you can tell that Mancinni is desperate. I mean, Seed of Chucky did worse then Jersey Girl. Universal rejected Seed's script and got Rogue Studios to get the film produced. That tells me that the film was a disaster from preproduction to box-office blunder. But I digress. I should probably wait until I feel like doing a Chucky series review to mention Seed any further. But seriously, the Child's Play series did fairly well until Seed. Why would Mancinni be incapable to do anything aside from this series. Why does he feel the need to cling on it untill the end of all existinst. Unless people fell afraid to let a homosexual write their script, but after hearing the lame comedy spouted from Seed, I wouldn't let that guy write my scripts either. Now as for the remake, they seem to also want Brad Dourif again. What's the point. This would be the same as if, to say, Cronenberg were to remake his remaking of The Fly, and would cast Jeff Goldblum and Gina Davis again. It just feels pointless. I just can't calm down about this. I'm considering doing a review on the Child's Play films. Its something I've wanted to do for quite some time. But until then, thanks alot, Micheal Bay.....Rob Zombie too, I guess.
