Bend the Media 17: Brian De Palma Marathon: The Phantom of the Paradise

Show Notes: Meet the Spartans makes #1 at the box office (WHY, GOD, WHY!!!). Movie Review: Brian De Palma's Phantom of the Paradise ---------------------------- http://bendthemedia.ning.com

Bend the Media 16: House of the Rocky Horror Picture Show

This week, Parker confesses that he's never seen a Uwe Boll film. But unfortunately, that's recently changed. Parker looks into the trademark Uwe Boll film that conclusively establishes his merits as a filmmaker. But to top it all off, Parker gives you his thoughts on the longest running film of all time. Yes, it’s the midnight horror sci-fi parody rock musical, The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Bend the Media 15: The Plegde, The Turn, The Prestige and The Cox?

This week on Bend the Media, Parker reviews Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story and The Prestige. Does Walk Hard pull off the biopic parody well, like everyone has said, or does the film fall flat on its face? Download the cast to find out. To support the podcast, join the forums at http://bendthemedia.ning.com, or vote for Bend the Media @ PodcastAlley. You can also buy Bend the Media Gear @ http://cafepress.com/bendthemedia.

Bend the Media 14: Friend in Need, Friend Indeed Short Film Commentary

This week, I want to give alternate commentary a little try. It turns out that I don't need to take the hiatus I mentioned (at least this week). As some of you know, I'm known as GetintheBag32 (goofy name, I know) on YouTube, and through YouTube, I came across a DIY track dolly video made by a user, Ryan3078. He used it to make a short film (Friend in Need, Friend Indeed) some time ago, and has released the "Director's Cut" about a month ago. For what it was, I thought it was pretty good, and I couldn't resist doing a commentary for it. So before you download the cast go to this address in a new window: http://youtube.com/watch?v=RWcm-mMr4TM After I count down, press play and enjoy the commentary. Music Credits: Dropkick Murphy’s Warrior's Code

Bend the Media 13: Rankin/Bass Christmas Marathon

In this cast, Parker takes a look at 4 of the Rankin/Bass produced stop-motion Christmas specials. I will be taking a 3 week hiatus, so I can have time to commit to my YouTube subscribers, and to experiment with new camera tricks. But don't forget to vote for me on PodcastAlley, purchase some Bend the Media Gear at Cafepress, and check out my friends @ Better in the Dark, Cool (Shite), Cinnemaslave, DVDPodBlast and 64bitgamer.

Reboot of Chucky

Yes, of course this was innevitable, wasn't it? David Kirschner just announced plans on remaking the 88' doll slasher flick Child's Play. You know, the film who's writer completlely dropped the ball with Seed of Chucky. He just seemed to have too much control of the series and seriously didn't know what the hell he was doing, or in fact, thinking. I geuss I can't blame him. The Chucky Franchise are literaly all of the films he has in his belt. With the addition of writing for the Tales of the Cr… Continue

Stay the HELL away from Error Safe

About a month or two back, I kept getting warnings that I should install a virus protection program called Error Safe. I was basicly forced to install it, after constantly closing the warning window out. Little did I know, this little bastard program from the depths of hell turned out to be spyware. It forced me to reboot my computer, and now I can't browse the web with Internet Explorer. I have to use AOL, which is a much harder ISP to use. So just a warning to everyone out there. Don't Install… Continue

Manhunt

Several Months ago, and y'all may have heard of this, Manhunt 2, a game made by the same people that brought you Grand Theft auto, was given a A rating by the ESRB for its extreme (and I mean extreme) violence., effectively banning it as no console would support an A rated game, and no retailer would stock it. So what do the designers do? They slap some code on top of the game to make the gorier moments blurry and darker, effectively killing the atmosphere of the game. Why do I bring this up? So… Continue
